I usually buy about 200 smalls from a local breeder. Feed 95% of the males as quickly as possible (before they get to big). And I grow out the females and add to my stock. The last time I did this I had to end up feeding some of the females because what I got was 80% females.

I lucked out and got 2 prego females from Pet Plus up the street from me for $15 and a male for $7.
    They dropped 24 babies total:gj:
Gonna hold back 6 females and 3 males so I know its going to take some time to get mine up and running.

I supply a lot of people locally with breeding stock. My breeding stock are usually more expensive than regular feeders because of the genetics involved. I won't sell an animal as a breeder without it meeting a productivity requirement.

All of my breeding stock come from litters of 12 or more pups.

They are also all descended from rats that have never bitten me.

They are also descended from rats that don't chew their tubs.

I have a few other requirements, but you get the idea.

If you go to some of the reptile classified sites and post a WANTED: BREEDER RATS post in the feeder section you will get a lot of responses.
