I am sorry to hear that. I wouldn't go swearing off of bp's just yet though. Death is part of a pet owners life. Although sometimes tragic it is inevitable. That doesn't mean we don't get another one and the new ones we get never replace the old. Don't loose hope. Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear that :( It's always horrible to lose an animal, especially one that was close to you. He was a beautiful clown too :( I agree with the others though that you shouldn't give up. It wasn't your fault, there was no way you could have known, and I'm sure the rest of your bps have excellent homes with you. If they are your passion, then you shouldn't give them up. Hang in there (as hard as it is)
And it's not pathetic at all! My snakes are my babies, it's hard to even think about something happening to them, and I'm going to be a complete wreck when it does. So I completely sympathize!

Re: Heartbroken
Damn! Sorry to hear about your loss. You'll always have empathy on BP.net
It would eat me up too to come home and find my sick BP with a RI, and then to pass not much later.
You'll always have our hearts and eyes (normally would have put ears, but it's text ;) )

Aww, I am terribly sorry for your loss hon.
Please give yourself some time to grieve before you decide to sell off your other snakes. Right now it's kind of a knee-jerk reaction, and you'll regret your hasty decision later.
Grieve for a while, it's not only normal it's good for you. After few months, if you still find your heart isn't in it, then go ahead and get out of balls. But don't underestimate the power of your remaining snakes to help you heal.
When I lost my beloved cat whom I had for almost 24 years, I was devastated, but even though I didn't think I could ever love another cat, surprisingly enough a scruffy little stray who wandered into my life about then made loosing Tigger a little easier, and today I'm glad he did.
Please don't blame yourself for the accident, it could have happened to any of us. It's not the same as the people out there who deliberately neglect their snakes.
I wish you all the best.
