Def some granite in there though

Here's my opinion on this clutch. Lookin at mom and dad, mom looks pretty normal to me, but dad exhibits some granitey goodness that shows to be inheritable, as shown by most of the offspring. What I love among the clutch was female number 1 (Sienna). I love her pattern and very high flames. As for the males, If you intend on breeding one to mom, I suggest trying male number one (Brass). As he's the one exhibiting almost the same trait as dad. But if you have the time, here's another suggestion. try keepin one of the female and breed it back to dad. :)

Of those boys, I'd pick Brass to breed back to mom because he seems to have the most of the granite pattern and dark color. Mahogany would be second, and may be one I'd use as the back-up male if Brass didn't seem to be doing the job.

There seems to be something going on in them. Especially with Sienna, Seipa, Bittersweet and Brass. They all have some nice high flames and nice dark patterns.

Because they are imported and unknown history parents, the breeding back to parents and siblings is necessary to pair any alleles that the original parents may be carrying for a homozygote. Otherwise you may never get them by pairing the offspring with other animals in hopes that they might be carrying the same genes.

Because the parents are not related, the inbreeding is less critical. I would not breed F2 offspring together.

Thanks! Those four are the nicest in my opinion also. They really look like the dad when he was a baby.

Thanks for the opinion! Brass seems to be a favorite between most of the responses (in the other thread). You're the first to say why though :)

Nice dark babies, I like the mini flames on some of them. gives them contrast.:)

Hey, thanks for the opinions! brass seems to be the one everyone would breed back to mom.

All the girls are staying with me. Breeding back to dad is definitely in the future. I only get to focus on mom this year though because only the boys might be large enough :)

Wow! That would be a tough call! They're definitely unique looking, and gorgeous!

If they're all just 'normals', I'd love to have any of them. They're great 'normals', if they are.
