I started cooling nov. Last year i started in oct same schedule just moved up a month this year. Due to a couple girls needing a few more good meals. All girls were 1500+. Nov I slowly moved hotspot temps down to 86.f for 10hours a day and then all heat turned off at night for a drop to 75.f. Started pairing in December and warm up occurred in Feb. Paired all the way through until ovys were seen. I'm still pairing Any females that haven't ovyd yet. Males were kept on 3 days and removed unless a def lock was seen and he'd be removed for his break immediately. They were all being fed very small meals until refusals occurred. No RIs this year. Last year i had only one with a virgin female she was pulled asap from breeding and didn't return till this season. Eggs will be coming April through July.
Well that's it in a nutshell!

Having just started breeding 2 seasons ago (this being my third season), I'm still trying to find how I like to do things. My first season I began pairing in late September. My only breeding female ovulated in February. The second season I did not get any of my ball pythons to go. I stopped pairing in April or May I believe. This season I began pairing in November and so far I have one gravid girl. I have 2 others who are seeing the boys, and my sister's female is locking up as well. Since I have felt small follicles on one girl, I will keep breeding her until I see an ovulation or I no longer feel follicles. The other female just began breeding in February and the male is not getting with the program! My sister's snake was introduced to a male only a week ago so I'll have a little while to go on her.

Eventually I will probably opt to go with all year round breeding, depending on what my females want to do.
