Re: How to keep the humidity and heat at proper level?
okay i get it better now, i didnt know it was like this to keep the humidity, i guess ill just spray the tank around and rely on my hygrometer, lgray ill follow ur advice by puttting stuff like wet paper towels inside the hiding spot, so it is like a bit higher than the outside, ill also buy a better heating pad, this one sucks it doesnt even feel hot when you hold it my ball python was kept with no humidity in its last house, and makes a whistling noise at night when im sleeping i can hear it if i pay attention closely

Just be advised, the heat mat will get VERY hot....I really think it would do you good to get a dimmer for it and a temp gun (meaning, don't rely on your temperature guage if that's what you're using)...if you don't want those then get a thermostat. I have a plain heat mat from zoo med and it was getting as hot as 140* on the bottom of my tank. I use the dimmer and it is below halfway most of the time. The buzzing noise also isn't a good thing...I sure hope you don't fry your snake if it shorts. Coconut bark or sphagnum moss works best for humidity hides, as him laying on a wet paper towel is a nice place for bacteria to pile up and give him scale rot....just a few more pointers....
