Cypress mulch

    That's what I use year round except for animals being paired. (females being paired are kept on newspaper and go back to cypress mulch once breeding season is over)

    Sounds good. I already got the bags, just wanted to make sure before i use them. They are currently in the freezer right now. Ill leave them in there for a few more days as a precaustions. Thanks everybody for the input.

    Freezing kills most things, in my area sometimes the garden mulch is treated with pesticides and that is toxic, but it is on the label. Take a moment to read it. I bought certified organic Cyprus mulch when I used it. Melaleuca Mulch is also an alternative if you can find it, effectively the same, but it is an evasive species in everglades and is being killed anyway.

    I just hate to see a threatened species ground up for mulch. Especially one that is so important to the everglades. I just figured I'd find an alternative sooner rather than later. My 2 cents worth.
