You can make an incubator out of a cheapo Styrofoam cooler, just add some flexwatt, thermostat & an accurite.

I'm not trying to be rude, but how can you pair up your snakes and not think about incubating eggs until she's getting ready to lay? This should all be figured out before you think about breeding; and even if not, regius take months to ovulate after pairing--you could have asked these questions months in advance and you wouldn't have to scramble to get an appropriate incubator setup. Just some food for thought, and some constructive criticism. Anywho, if this is your only clutch, I'd say just buy a Hovabator, plug it into a better thermostat, get the egg box in there with a 1:1 ratio of vermiculite to water, and get it up to the right temps. Good luck, and here's to a healthy hatch of snakes. Keep in mind that you shouldn't wait this long to get appropriate setups for your hatchlings.

    Cheers,

Im getting an incubater on wednesday, its just that my boss told me this female can not reproduce, that she never has and never will.

So he told me never to expect eggs, so i wasnt going to get excited or anything.

If you are pairing snakes with the obvious intent of breeding/reproducing them...I would think it's wise to error on the safe side. Either way...I'm glad to hear you are getting an incubator and wish you the best with eggs and babies!

Something else to think about...You may have a bunch of new snakes to house in a month or two.

Didn't even think of the space for the babies :O d'oh
Yeah you'll need setups for babies if you get eggs.

From the picture it looks like she is trying to find a comfortable position. This could be due to follicle/egg development. If so you could have eggs in 1 to 2 weeks. Normally you want to have your incubator fired up, tested and stabilized 2 weeks prior to you suspected lay date so you want to get a incubator asap.

I converted my incubator from a broken RedBull mini fridge. I'd recommend something similar:http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ull-Incubator!

Here is another option for an incubator that I built. This was from a $60 used wine cooler I found on craigslist. There are tons of options...I'm sure you'll come up with something.
