Did he finish his shed?
The way I help my snakes out with the occasional stuck shed: wet a towel with warm water and then wring most of it out. Cover the snake with the towel in a tub smaller than it's normal enclosure.. snug enough that the snake has to crawl thru the towel. Check on the snake after an hour or two... the skin should be off.
