If your temps and husbandry is good, and eating properly. Then you shouldn't worry, he's probably just regulating his body temperature. Or maybe he's bored and want's to do something different, Lol.

It sounds like he is fine, just hanging out isn't a big problem as I said the clue comes from the animal it sounds like yours is content and just moving about.

First of all, dont take out the hides. if he ever needs them, he will not have them. Also, if his temps are fine, I dont see a problem.
