Misinformation is the only reason why people still think any docile snake (ball pythons, cornsnakes, etc) is dangerous. I hate hate HATE misinformation in general and the smug people who think they know everything about something when they absolutely do not. Pet peeve #1! :rage::rage::rage:

In the first place, no one is going to take " dangerous snakes" on a cruise ship. Second, no one is going to secure a crate with any live animal in it so poorly. Third, I'd love to know how they figure 99% of those snakes were "dangerous". I spotted Ball Pythons, Hognoses, Cornsnakes, Milk Snakes, Garden Snakes, a Carpet Python, and a beautiful Albino Burmese, as well as several species I did not recognize. Along with numerous rubber snakes.

You know, it would be rather difficult for anyone to work with actually dangerous snakes on a tv set. They are used because they don't pose any harm to someone. I don't see a problem with this as long as the show doesn't mention that a ball python is a highly venomous snake leading to misinformation.

You have a point there. But you have to consider that this show is geared towards kids. Kids are pretty visual in terms of their learning habits. I would think that if a kid saw a ball python or a cornsnake portrayed as a 'dangerous snake' then they would have that kind of association with those snakes in the future. I may be looking way too far into this but it seems like misinformation is still there by labeling the snakes in that box as "dangerous".

Yeah, I was considering calling him and offering to just buy them.. but as bad as I feel for the snakes, I really don't feel like negotiating with a pot-head lmao people never cease to amaze me.
Re: My big Redneck Wedding
The more I get into reptiles the more the general media just angers me. I understand Disney not wanting to work with dangerous snakes on set, but why misrepresent the most harmless snakes around as dangerous? It is no wonder people have such issues with snakes. They are teaching kids to fear reptiles, but how often do you see Disney shows with aggressive dogs? etc.
On fatal attractions they covered a woman who was bitten by one of her hot snakes and died. They showed footage of the Hamm show in Germany and painted reptile shows in horrible light. "ANYBODY can buy any animal they want if they have the money" etc. Supposedly, all reptile breeders are just in it for the money and want to breed an army of deadly reptiles to invade white-bread America!

:( What an ignorant thought. I plan on breeding, not for the money, but the experience of raising such amazing little creatures :) I can't help but smile when I think about seeing little BPs poking their heads out for the first time! Lol..
All we can hope for is that those who travel to educate people about reptiles will make an impact sooner rather than later.
