I think the first thing you gotta do is decide what your budget is for the male and then see whats in the price range and take a look at your females and see what you can get working with them. if they are all normals, get the male with the most genes you can afford.

What do you have for females?
Do you just want to crank out babies for quick cash?
How long are you willing to wait to see breeding results?
Do you want to try your your hand at breeding multiple recessives (like coral glows)?
I could simply suggest that you buy whatever male yearlings I decide to sell....
But that sort of defeats the purpose.

well im really new to this stuff and all i have is one female normal at the moment.. waiting to see what this upcoming show has to offer before i make any decisions.. im willing to wait as long as i have to.. sorta.. i mean i just wanna make some cool ass one of a kind types of balls in the future. not for money just for pride. im really getting interested in the whole genetics deal. :D

Pastel, hypo, ghost, albino, and spider always make good "adder" genes.
If you're just starting out stick with the basic less expensive dom/co-dom stuff.
Breeding recessives into any line takes multiple generations and offers less immediate gratification with greater long term potential.
If you can afford a bee that would give you some pretty cool offspring right off the bat. Or, for the cost of a bee you could pick up a nice pastel and a nice spider.
And of course.....
It wouldn't hurt to pick up a couple more 1200+ gram females to breed them to. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

I think the best male to start of your breeding projects would be a SPINNER.
because you have two of the most important base mutations in one animal.
And its easy to add good single gene females with a spinner like a pastel,butter/lesser,mojave,enchi ect.And most of these females are pretty cheap and your outcome will be really promising.

I would look a buying some females first. They take longer to be ready to breed.
