I had two rescue "male" snakes that locked up during breeding season and the previous owner reported this as well. I have never probed either of them since I had no plans of breeding them. The bigger male may well be have been an infertile female, she/he had horrible heat mat burns from the previous owner. I would not have been surprised had his/her reproductive organs been damaged...
