Don't feel bad...my car is buried too! My mailman couldn't even get here!
Re: There's a blizzard outside!
I live in texas and we have 2 inches of ice, certainly not a blizzard but very slipery to drive on and they don't have plows or anything. They are salting the roads and the temp overnight is going to be 10 degrees so its just going to freeze worse than before.
Re: There's a blizzard outside!
I hear Dallas was something like 9 degrees yesterday, snow and ice everywhere. So much that a huge party tent collapsed. Just think what it could be like in 3 years when the Superbowl will be in the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.
I do feel for all of you, we had back to back blizzards last year with over 5 feet of snow from both storms.
We were very lucky this time, got a little bit of ice yesterday morning (that quickly melted, due to temps rising into the 40's). Got a ton of rain last night, but temps were warm enough to not allow anything frozen.
Good luck, stay in, keep warm, post a few messages on BP.net.

I actually stayed home from work yesterday in case of a power outage!!!! I was so worried I'd be at work and the babies would go without heat!! We don't have a generator but we have some heatpacks, a credit card and a jeep that can get us to the nearest hotel with power!!!
Re: There's a blizzard outside!
Yeahhh, Chicago and the suburbs got 2ft+.
Let's just say I'm not looking forward to the -15F windchill tomorrow either.
Having 500-700 cars stranded on Lakeshore Drive with wind speeds of up to 70mph (we had a 67mph gust reported) created waves 15-20ft tall and created a freezing spray along the roads in Chicago.
They're using bobcat machinery to load snow onto dump trucks and pull it out of downtown instead of plowing.
