The normal females are at about 1000g, so they should be ready next winter, I'll probably have to breed to only the normal females for the first couple years, unless with luck the morph females get up to weight and sexually mature in 24 months, though most of what I've seen says it usually takes 2 1/2 to 3 years for them to mature, so that's what I'm planning on. If they surprise me and can breed earlier, then all the better.

Personally I would go for a back up male. I have three males for my 15 girls. I have an albino male that just seems to be a machine, a lesser male that has not locked yet and a pastel that is still a little to young to understand what to do. My Albino (730 g) and lesser (750 g) are both at about 14 months and the pastel (420 g) is only around 5 months. I am sure glad I had my albino this year as a few girls were up to weight and I could get right inot breeding. To wait another year would have been a little dissappointing and the excitement was overwhelming.

So any suggestions on what would be a good back up male that wont' break the bank? I was thinking perhaps a YB or Pastel, or maybe even a Mojave, but they are a decent amount more than the other two. Suggestions welcome...
