Have him and our female swapped over to a sterile enclosure w paper towels down, cleaned him up first thing last night and cleaned him up this am, will start applying neosporin this evening. Should i do this 2x a day??

I wouldn't hurt to do it twice a day

Ok...sorry I am late on this...you can wash it with Cholorohexadine (or some other type of disenfectent that you would clean a would with). Make sure to dillute it with water and then as stated put neosporin with no pain killer on it at least twice a day. Make sure that it does not get any yellow crusties or goop on it. This could be a sign of an infection. It looks like a clean break and that it was rather low so I think it will be fine. It may after scabbing turn a little black on the edges and crust off. This is ok and not to worry. The biggest thing is try to clean up all poo as soon as it happens so that he doesn't drag the open wound in it.

So far so good tail is looking good. Very spunky still, healthy appetite.

On a sad note though, our female passed away today. We have only had her for 3 weeks max. Have been hand feeding her due to not eating and wasnt quite active the last few days. Unsure if was sick when we got her our what may have caused it. Totally unexpected and bummed.

Oh no...I am so sorry to hear that. Wonder if she had parasites??? You might want to have a fecal done on your male, just in case. TYpically with my vet I can just take it in whenver and he will check it for free.
