Interesting, I just assumed the heat packs were good enough. The place I bought my RTB from shipped it to me this past Tuesday, she was warmer than room temperature but not up to the temp she should have been I suppose. I'll keep that in mind from now on if its that cold outside and I'm in the mood to get another reptile.

I'm not sure where I've heard this or whether its true, but don't those heat packs also use up oxygen ?

I know snakes don't require as much oxygen, but with a few heat packs in a box, couldn't that become an issue as well ?

    Perhaps I'm wrong, though.

When it comes to pieds, I'm incredibly picky on what I like. And I like yours :) I like them to be at least 50/50, no more white then that. I like the pattern to be nicely distributed. I like the pattern to be nice and orange and clean.
Therefore I like yours better then the other one, the other one has to much white for me.

Although I do have to say, that little smilie face on the other one is to dang cute, LOL.

Good choice and I know the wait is hard. But its telling me that this is a good seller and buyer, putting the snakes well being before all else. The wait is nothing compared to many years of joy you will get from that Beauty.

    Big congratulations :)

That was exactly my thought. I like them to be more 50/50. I also like the way the white is between each spot of color. I hope he keeps the orangeness also.

They were all technically beautiful though, it made it very hard to decide!

    Oh, man! Awesome pied.

I've had animals shipped in February from Florida to Phoenix. You'd think shipping overnight from one warm place to another would be a no brainer, but the animals usually still spend many hours at sorting centers in the midwest or upper South, and you're absolutely right: the heat packs aren't enough. I've only had minimal health problems as a result, but the animals are always STRESSED. OUT.

Animals that ship in milder weather aren't nearly as stressed.

Love the pieds, but the smiley face on the other one would have sucked me in, but then again I'm a sucker for smiley face pieds (see avatar).

I'm not trying to highjack or anything, but I just wanted to mention that I just purchased a female pied from the same breeder as artist and writer, and I was actually hesitating between that male she didn't buy and the female.

I love that male and I liked the smiley as well, which kinda looks like a chocolate chip cookie when you look at him the other way, but I always liked my snakes to be females....so the female won! She is actually going to be the cousin of the male pied.

Waiting on the weather as well:please:....so we will be supporting each other in this unending wait!
