    That's a good point. I use one of those digital food scales from Wal-Mart. I take it to the store to weigh the rats. I usually look for rats in the 80g-100g size and I feed every 10 days.

    Makes sense.. Thanks for the advice... i think he'll be fine... hes just never snapped before, even when he snuck out last time he tried to scurry off but he didnt even come close to trying to bite me. The two incidents only happened in the last 3 weeks. Anyways ill try the feeding advice dr del suggested and hopefully that will help!

    Okay.. a small rat every two weeks is a lot better than a "mouse" every two weeks.

    You might try putting more hides in too.

    Sometimes if they strike at a hand rather than a rodent in the hand, it can be the heat signature rather than deliberate.
