Bow is set at 75lbs and is 70% let off. Gonna be dropping it to 65 or 70lbs as shoulder is not able to handle it with old injury.

Awesome. I bet that's wicked fun with the scope :) I like my fiber optic sight... But that's just for targets. :) Not sure a scope would be much use on a 30# recurve :P

    Take care of your shoulder!!

The scope takes some time to sight it in but its also weird shooting with it.

The scope requires BOTH eyes stay open at all times when pulling back. One eye looks down scope to center red dot in middle and other picks up the target and anchor point. But good thing is once all is sighted in you will never miss your target.

The scope is still sold today for about $300 on their Site.

I live for archery hunting. I almost never use a gun, it takes all the fun out of hunting. I use a compound & have shot quite a bit with longbows. I used a recurve once to bowfish.

[QUOTE=wolfy-hound;1488263]Crossbows have almost no relation to true archery as far as technique or practicing. Not to say they are less of a weapon or not as much fun.. but they don't require anything like the technique of a longbow, so it won't relate between the two. If you practice with a crossbow, make certain the backstop is thick enough to stop the bolts, because they typically pack a LOT more power. You also don't need nearly as much practice or strength to shoot a crossbow, so they can be great fun.

I didnt think there was a lot of skill required for the crossbow, but I think it will be fun to try. But like you said Ill have to beef up my back stop. And I forgot about a longbow, Got to try that also.

You still need some practice to get good with a crossbow, but by its design, you are not holding the pressure on your own arm while trying to aim, taking into account all the other factors. It's much more like shooting a gun, which also needs practice to get good at.
