We keep our house at about 78 at all times for the snakes and the lizards but we still use flexwatt. Our lizards also have their basking lights as well!!!!

My snake is in my room, and lets face it, no one wants to sleep in an 80+ degree room! It's around 75 degrees in my room as I live up stairs, so I keep a heat lamp on 24/7 along with her uth to make sure its warm enough for her.

We heat our room to 84-85 w/out supplemental heat....I've had great results as far as eating and breeding go and no health issues. We do have belly heat in case the room heater fails, but it's never come on.
