Re: New BP hatchlings not eating! Need Suggestions!
I would like to thank everyone for there help. I have them in 2 seperate cages and put crupled newspaper in with each of them along with the cardboard tubes. I will let them settle 1 more day and then try live. If they do not take the live then I will assist feed. thanks again everyone. Merry Christmas.
Re: New BP hatchlings not eating! Need Suggestions!
Went to assist feed today and the one was barely moving, almost thought he had died at first. I put him in some warm water and he seemed to come around a little. He drank and then I assist fed him a warmed f/t mouse pink. I helped him a little work the pink to his stomach. I covered him up with crumpled news paper in his shoe box and put him back on the heat.
The other one was able to move alittle more. I put the warmed f/t mouse pink into its mouth and it took it down the rest of the way on her own. Gave a little warm bath and a drink and then covered up with the crumpled newspaper in its shoebox and put back to heat.
I guess only a little time will tell now, but does not look to good!! I will be defenitly be calling the person I bought them from(tomarrow, I won't on christmas).
They were suppose to be for my boys for christmas, they might have to get some new ones, so if anyone knows any in northern WI that will be good stock I would greatly appreciate to know who!!
Thanks

Dont give up on them now. If they keep the food down then they still have a chance. I have 4 snakes that hatched october 1st and they still havent fed by themselves.
Re: New BP hatchlings not eating! Need Suggestions!
I have not given up and won't give up. I was just saying the odds are not on their side by maybe a few prayers will come through. And if more are aquired well you know, you can never have too many. LOL You can't leave racks empty. LOL

A lot of them can bounce back with some extra care.
But yes, you can only have as many as you can afford!
Problem is my pockets stop at the top of my pants:O

Wow, hoping all goes well, definitely keep us posted. And be sure to provide enough heat so that they can properly metabolize the meals.
Fred.
Re: New BP hatchlings not eating! Need Suggestions!
I have them about 92 on the warm side. Looks like one is digesting the meal, the other on the other hand still has a good lump. I been soaking them a little each day to try to rehydrate them, was going to get some pedilite and mix that 50/50 with the water. They have been drinking a ton when I soak them, I don't think they are stong enough to make to their water bowls. Still saying prayers!!
Re: New BP hatchlings not eating! Need Suggestions!
Both hatchling passed today.:( I contacted the person that I got them from and found out that they were given a ivermectin shot due to having mites. They dose must have been too much.
On a good note I had a phone call from someone and aquired a 6yr. old 0.0.1 B.P. that they did not have time to take care of anymore. I do not know the weight because my scale does not read that high. I just have a small digital that I used for my corns. I put it in one of my displays and will let it settle for a while. I will get some pictures in a weel or so.
Thank you everyone for your help.
