She died last night her stay at vista yohon lasted 4 days 3 nights. She was a cutie but nows shes in the back freezer at the store and i had to wait till later today to talk to the boss about a new snake. Its a shames but circle of life.

The other baby in the tank wither her is perfectly fine and the other 7 at the store are good, also my larger female is perfect even after eating a rat pup the dead baby didnt want.

She rolled over in her water dish in the night i found her in the morning took her out to put her in a basking spot, she vacated her bowels as i picked her up and she was dead.

Re: Destined To Die, swap out.
I am totally confused. So, help me out. You were feeding her everyday? And, you are feeding your older bp rat pups? A bp 1.5 yrs old should be on small rats at the least. And babies only need to eat every 3 to 5 days. Especially if being force fed. I would give them at least 5 days to stress down.

Second, bps idealy should not be kept together. Could it have been she didn't have enough access to the warm side with the other bp being in there? And, if the tank was big enough to accomidate both snakes, it was probably way to big for a baby. I'm just trying to clear things up. :) That way we can rule out husbandry issues for the new baby.

I'm awfully confused as well. How did she eat 4 pinkies in such a short time? Even though pinkies are not an ideal food for a baby python, four of them that close together would be too much I would think, and could easily have been the reason she regurged.

Secondly, even if the other baby with her seemed fine, if she was that weak and that sick, I certainly would NOT have added to her misery by housing them together. She needed rest and quiet and warmth, not to have to compete with a bigger and healthier animal. If she couldn't stay warm enough, that alone would have made her regurge, let alone the stress level.

Sorry to sound cruel, but it doesn't sound to me like you made much effort to save her, nor do you seem overly upset by her death. For the sake of your other snakes, I hope it wasn't anything contagious, but then I guess if they die too oh well, you'll just swap them out.
