My comment was for this certain dimmer, it sucks.
A good dimmer works fine in the right room, if the ambeint temps go up and down then so does the snakes temepratures.
    Nothing beats a good thermostat

I have 2 of those but in white for now I have one on my UTH and one on my red light. It did take me a while to get them dialed in and they seem to work OK as long as the room temperature remains a constant.

I have a proportional thermostat coming I am going to put on my UTH as soon as it gets here but I plan to keep that dimmer on my over head heat light because all it does is kick the ambient up a couple degrees.

I was using one in a pinch while waiting for a thermostat to come in and I didnt like it one bit. Like everyone else said, the temps flutuate way too much and I dont have the time to be adjusting it every day. My racks are on herpstats and that is all I will use. A good thermostat is priceless in my book because it takes all the guess work out.
