It's too bad you can't trace the source to the breeder to find out if he was born that dark, or if he underwent a color change at some point. To me, he doesn't really have that Dirty Joe/IMG/"presto-chango snake" look to him, but I've seen it happen with my own animals enough times now to question if there's a metabolic (and not genetic) cause whenever I see an especially light or dark animal.

Otherwise if you don't get something neat in the first generation, I would think your best bet would be to breed back his female offspring to him to see if it could potentially be a recessive hypermelanism overlaying the cinnamon trait. He does kinda remind me a bit of this type of hypermel, though, which evidently hasn't proven genetic:

    Doesn't hurt to try, though!

I know what you mean about tracing his parents and the original breeder, From what I've been told is he was like that when he was a hatchling and he just keeps getting darker and darker he's head resembles a super cinny.

I'm hoping he does prove to be genetic ;) I have had alot of input with him already about what he could be some even think he isn't a cinny and something else.

    Cheers Loon :)

I'll get him to a normal once he's home ( He is currently at a friends until I can pick him up ) and quarrentined, I will get him to a Mojo when my female is up to weight I will see if I can buy a YB and Cinny female and another Mojave ;)

    Hi,

I'd love to see what he brings to the table when combined with sable, black pastel, pied and a really reduced spider.

The first two just for the darkening, the pied and spider for the head colour contrast with the body. ;)

Thanks Del :) Hopefully I should have a Black Pastel next season will be trying to get a grown on/adult female and some pied females hatching ;)

Hopefully my spider will pass on his genetics to his off spring because that would make a good combo :D
