well yeah that's why i started this thread to see if people think its safer for them in my bathroom or in my bedroom... i was just pointing out that the under tank heaters are working so no one asks me that next that's all..

I second this! You can buy plastic window insulating kits at Wal-Mart dirt cheap, they are ridiculously easy to install, and they are the only reason my mobile home stays above 40 degrees in the winter! You want the ones for indoor use, you'll have to measure the window and cut the plastic sheet to size, but once it's up you'll be amazed at how warm you room stays.

i have considered this!!!! but i do live in apt and i don't pay for the heat they do!!!!!!! :gj::gj: LOL but sill been thinking bout that but the only reason considering putting my snakes in my bathroom over plastic is cuzz it doesn't cost any money to put them in bathroom and im kinda cheap like that lol. but i would spend the money for the plastic if its a must!... and i don't mind the cold but obviously i need to do something!

.. my snakes tanks cool side is prolly at the lowest around 60-65 but that's only during the coldest part of the night the warm side being up around 70 at that time.. the rest of the time the cool side is at 70 with the warm side siting somewhere between 75-80 at the very highest.. they both act fine no sign of the being sick.. of coarse i don't want them to get sick.(which is why im thinking bout moving them :P) and my normal for some reason curls up in the cool side vs the warm side and idk why i moved her water dish and hide around to see if that helped but id didn't lol..

the only thing keeping me from moving them is this... is it sanitary to put my snakes in my bathroom for both me and my snakes.. i wouldn't think it would be a big deal but maybe there is something that idk.. just thought it would be better safe then sorry.. doesn't hurt to ask lol

    thanks for your help! :gj:

Well you certainly need to do something quick! If you were to put them in your bathroom I would suggest cleaning it with Chlorahexadine. I use this to clean all the cages as well as any bathroom areas when someone is sick in the house.

I would though recommend talking to your apt. mgr. in regards to the window. They should be able to fix that. Also if they are paying for heating why not crank it up a bit?? Our house is at a balmy 76-78 degrees. Its like a nice summer day....lol. I would rather pay for the heating bill as opposed to the vet bill. Not to mention the fact I am rather over the top with my babies..
