Re: There once was a place called BP.net......
I have found this to be one of the most informative sites with many helpful herpers willing to share their expertise. It has been alittle over a year that I've been visiting here and I'm continually learning even while just lurking.
And if you're really lucky... you get Reptile Rockstars like Big Gunns responding in your thread! ;)

If a thread goes unanswered for a few hours and gets buried under a bunch of new threads, it's ok to respond to it yourself to bring it back to the top like Reesy did. Sometimes a thread just gets missed, though it's actually pretty rare for a thread to go without any answers at all..especially in the ball python sections. :)
One other thing to consider when asking questions is, not only can it take some time for someone to answer the question, but, at any given time, there are usually 100+ people who are viewing the forums as "Guest" so they can only view the threads, which is another eason the view count can jump quickly...

^ This.
It's nice to have a friendly, helpful, non-judgmental place to come to share stories and get advice and thoughts from others who share a common interest, all the way from very experienced owners/breeders to novice first-time snake owners like myself.
Certainly I've done my homework and I feel pretty confident in being able to provide a happy home for my pet, but it's a huge added comfort knowing that I have a group of knowledgeable people ready and willing to help with advice, information, and suggestions if needed. Would that all online communities were so supportive.
