Well, I will say this... so far I've never seen a story on here end with "we found her dead today" so as far as I know, there's always a possibility. These guys can go a while off food and are usually pretty good about finding a place that's at least warm enough to survive.

Thats true, I've never seen anyone say that either... I'm mostly worried because she is so small...my 1600 gram adult can go without food for a while but the baby's only had 2 meals.


If I'm ever lucky enough to own a house with a seperate snake room I am making sure the ENTIRE thing is sealed...

Sometimes you really need to search with a magnifying glass.

Especially with a snake so small. she'll be easy to overlook. If you are looking for her, don't look for the whole snake, because most likely all you will see is just a little bit of her. A tail, maybe an inch of her side, things like that.

I've had a few escapes, and when I found them all I saw was a few inches of pattern, not the whole snake. I almost missed them, and mine were MUCH bigger.

Try not to give up hope, they are tougher than they look. You might try putting a small lamp in one corner of the room just before bed, the heat may draw her out.

My snakes are in a seperate room, I had a big girl get out the other day, and wouldn't you know it i had let the room door opened, I searched all the obvious places, no luck. I figured since I'll be moving in the next 2 weeks that she'd turn up. Well I found her peeking from under the rack.

I own a fiber optic snake with camera/light attachment which makes it easier to search small dark places.

Not going to lie, when I first started reading that sentence, I thought, "Wow, when did they make a Fiber Optic morph? That's gotta look cool!"

I've had escapee once... 1000g female mojave belong to a friend... lost her for 3 weeks... I already given up on her and got the money ready to compensate for her lost...

But at around 8pm as I was walking pass a stack of old newspaper, I noticed something at the corner of my eyes... the b*tch froze and act like a stick. These animal is a great at "camouflage". I swear, you are actually walking by them everyday.. and they are so near and yet you can't see them... For me, I still can't figure out howa 1000g snake can hide in a stack of old newspaper. I swear, the stack just look like a normal old newspaper... she must have been very flat in those stack...

A fiber optic snake would be nice!! Would make looking much easier..
Well the mouse did not draw her out last night but I am trying to stap optimistic. She has got to be there somewhere, we are just overlooking her because she is so small, i think i'll try to set up a camera tonight and see if I can at least get conformation that she is still alive. She is due to poop soon so maybe i'll find that lol.

Thanks for the hopeful words everyone...it does help to know that they sometimes come back weeks later...i would rather that not happen lol but I'll take anything at this point, its been like 48 hours since my bf noticed she was gone...

Dark, warm and "private".....all my escapees were found in places having at least two of these characteristics

Unfortunately most homes have many possibilities.....

I've had a few escapees myself, they can literally hide anywhere and are VERY easy to overlook.

I found one behind the hot water heater, where I would have never thought to look because I wouldn't have assumed the snake would go in the laundry room, another found coiled up underneath the couch. Check through laundry, your dresser, laundry room, basement, bathrooms.. Literally everywhere. Just don't assume or say to yourself "she wouldn't go in there".. you'd be surprised! Look high and low also.. don't just stick low to the ground.

I think the flour trick could still be useful even on carpet and you can just vacuum it up in the end.. Can't hurt!
