if they're both het tsk axanthic, then they are compatible and you have a shot at producing tsk axanthics. depending on who you're buying from, I'd ask for pictures of the offspring to make sure they actually are hets. good luck.

TSK Axanthics are totally brown as adults and basically look like normals...Just FYI.

I paid $500 for a proven TSK axanthic directly from them in 2008. $1200 is high for a het pair proven or not. I saw a proven pair of VPI hets last week for $600. In my opinion $500 would be a better price for the animals you are looking at.

TSK, VPI, and NERD axanthics are not compatible with each other. The reason you don't see alot of TSK axanthics on the market is that it browns out more than any of the other lines. Personally I am playing around with a couple of pastel het. TSK axanthics which will be ready to breed soon. :D If your interested in TSK ax hatchlings send me a PM - I should have some early next year. (Sorry if I'm breaking forum rules).

I just sold a pair of het. tsk axanthics for $300.00 - not worth 1200 (i really really wish they were).LOL

Oh! There you go - You learn something new everyday! I was always under the impression that none of the lines were compatible. That's really good to know - thanks :)

I wanted to chime in just because I'm a big fan of the Axanthic gene and work solely with TSK.

I haven't heard of anyone doing a visual VPI axanthic to a visual TSK axanthic but would love to know the result. Until that time I don't know that anyone can say for 100% certain that they are incompatible (or any others aren't either). I do know that the Joliff and VPI lines are incompatible as there are Joliff het VPI axanthics available and visual to visual has been done.

I'm curious if there really are 3 incompatible lines of axanthic. If you think about it, it seems unlikely when you consider that any pastel from the wild or albino from the wild (and even toffee now) has been proven to be compatible. It seems strange IMO to have 3 100% incompatible lines of axanthic given how many things are allelic that are independent from one another.

I think just like pastels there are great examples of every "line" and it's all about selective breeding and breeding for the "look" you want. I have seen great examples of every line of axanthic that are silver and black as adults and not brown at all. I have also seen the opposite of every line.

I like the silver look myself so have tried to keep that in perspective when buying and/or holding back animals.

I don't think the TSK line is bad at all ;) but definitely go with what you like and what animal looks the best to you.
