Honestly, I would ask for the money in full. I am in no way trying to become a part of this, or interfere in your life, I'm just trying to help. However, if he gives you some money, pay-pal may drop your dispute and you may not be able to re-dispute this, meaning you would lose the other $150 but then on the other hand, you may be waiting a little bit for your money if he's going to take his sweet time to pay you back.

Something doesn't seem quite right to me about the guy having spent your money, and on top of that either keeping the animal for himself or potentially selling it to someone else. (I guess there is the possibility that something came up with the health of the animal as well, but who knows?) The money received for an animal shouldn't be spent by the seller, though, until the deal is complete and you are sure the person is satisfied with the animal they received. I completely fail to see any valid excuse for you having not been reimbursed the instant the person knew they would not be able to send you the animal.

The best I can do now is send you $150 and I have a few things I am selling on Kingsnake as soon as I make a sale give you the other $150 trust me if I had the $300 I would have paid you back immediately I understand you could give a crap and it’s your money, but you know sometimes in life things happen that are out of our control and you and your wife are acting life I am trying to rip you off or something and I really don’t appreciate that at all..As a matter of fact I might ask my work to cash in some vacation time just to pay you off asap to get this ridiculous crap off my back…"
This right here means he already spent the money  sorry but this is just bad practice, as a breeder myself the fund received do not go anywhere until my customer is fully satisfied with the transaction (whether it is one payment transaction or an animal on a payment plan)

Yes things happen but you do not spend money that is not yours and someone claiming to be in business for 20 years should know that

Hes not been in this industry that long with ethics like that. Money should never of been touched EVER.

I never touch money on anything i sell, even $8 products i sell. They stay there till customer has it in their hand. Then ONLY do i touch it. IDC if life is hard or not, its not his decision to use your money and then not be able to pay you back and get pissed about it.

This belongs on the BOI now. You need not be nice anymore. He needs to be exposed. Raise your claim to the next level. As im sure his bank account is attached to his paypal and that will be rendered useless till he refunds you.

I am the husband of the original poster. Here is how it went down. We paid for the snakes, but asked him to hold them an extra week because we were going on vacation. He told me to remind him a day before we wanted him to ship it and to give our address and such. We were supposed to get a male and female caramel. He proceeded to tell me the day before(I contacted him, not the other way around) that the female had come down with a RI and he had to spend $300 at the vet and he did not wanna sell a sick animal. Which is how it should be. I only found out the day before that this snake got sick. He never made any attempt to contact me to let me know what was going on. So we now have the male in our possession(everything seems to be ok with him) and the refund was supposed to be for the female. And this is where we stand. He told us that he would refund the money this past Friday after he got paid. Friday came and went and I had no money and no response from him. I emailed him late Friday to see what was up. I emailed him Sat morning again, in case he didnt get it. He then proceeded to tell us that emailing him is not going to get the money to us any faster. That had me ticked off and he has since continued to be rude as you can see from my wife's previous posts.

Yup. This deserves a BOI thread IMO. A legitimate breeder won't spend any money until the seller has the snake. The fact that he's already done that is unacceptable. Period.

He should have refunded by Friday when he said he would. He did not. It took you filing a complaint to get a response from him. Don't let him give you the "I've been in this business 20 years blah blah blah" BS. If he's been doing this so long then he'd know that he shouldn't have spent your money before you had your snake.

Good luck with this. I hope you get it taken care of.

I agree that for this guy to have spent your money while giving you nothing is dead wrong.
And he has a lot of chutzpah to pretend to be offended that you expect a prompt refund when he took your money and spent it and gave you nothing.
If he did that to me he could fully count on having his name mentioned every time that I posted about it it, right up until I had my refund in hand.

My hubby will be posting the whole thing on fauna... Emails... name... and all as I am not quite as computer literate as he... tried not to let it get to that... again I believe I trust people pretty easily all it would have taken was some friendly communication instead of ignoring us, lies, and then making me feel like I am a bad person. Thanks again guys. BTW The seller was Randy from first coast reptiles and I believe I've been more then patient with him before spouting out a bad rep!
