My ball python a while back was getting brownish patches on his scales which was scale rot and I made all the husbandry fixes and it went away with the next couple sheds.

Eco earth is horrible for snakes. Keep an eye on it. The best recommended ointment for burns or scale rot is Silvadene (Silver Sulphadiazine) because it is not oil based like some others. When moisture is the cause and more moisture can make it worse, never use oil based ointments such as neosporin, polysporin or bacitracin.

Just keep him dry and it will heal. Good luck with him :)
