Needless to say I stopped what I was doing and ran to check it out. I turned on the light and rats scattered like roaches. Luckily I had just counted that tank to fill an order. 89 out of 131 were out. My daughter and I caught all of them except 1 within the hour. The missing one was caught in a trap a couple of days later.

A time-lapse video of that would have been EPIC....

Ive had a couple near escapes when moving them during cleaning. Like one accidently slips from my fingers when moving. Luckily i was able to trap it on the floor and put it back. No losses yet. Before i had the soft furs and rats, i had a couple field mice or voles that i found in my car one day. They were weaned but didnt find the mother till she started to smell if you know what i mean. One day the babies got out of the container i had them in, i trapped one upstairs and put it back. And the other my cat brought to me one night. It was rather funny. I was sitting on the computer and my car walks up to me with this little vole in her mouth and just gives it to me unharmed. The vole was in shock and i picked it up and put it back with other one.
