Love them! Congrats! Do you think its the Cinny gene that effects the lack of pattern since pastel pieds usually have more?

I absolutely do. The Cinny Pieds I've seen are also very high white, although I have seen one that did have a couple of large bullseye patterns other than the head. Same goes for the Panda Pied. Still a very worthwhile project.

    Thanks for the compliments.

I was just thinking about this. The Panda Pied has body pattern, albeit much less than a normal pied, but the inclusion of the pastel gene makes it all go away and just leaves pattern on the head.

    Interesting...

I'm not so sure the Pastel gene has anything to do with the minimal pattern on the Pieds. There are Pastel and Super Pastel Pieds with med to low white. I think it has more to do with the Cinny and Black Pastel genes. Of the Cinny Pieds, the Panda Pied, and the Pewter Pieds, all are very high white. The Panda even has a solid white head and only two patches of black on it's body.

I'll look for pics of Cinny Pieds as well. I'm not sure there are many of them around. Those that I have seen are very high white.

Here are the Pewter Pieds I produced this year.
    These hatched last week.

I believe the Cinny gene is responsible for the high white pattern in these.
