    Only use a glass tank if your looking at getting just one enclosure for them. It will save you time, money and alot of annoyance and stress.

    strange....I havent had anything close to a chew out. I'm using a sterilite 58qt. 1.3 group, and if anyone tries chewing anything into the freezer they go.

    I ended up getting the 64qt Sterilite for a 1.3 group. I added a couple hoppers, aspen bedding, and a few chewing blocks. I'll let you know how they make out.

    Quick question, I heard that certain dyes are bad for rats. Would blocks of untreated spruce wood dyed with food coloring be harmful to them?

    I make these blocks for my Parrot to chew on so I assume they are safe for rats, but I admit I don't know much about rats.

    Red dye is harmful to rats. If you google search on it, you should get alot of hits.
