Snakes are notorious for finding some way to get themselves stuck to tape, and they can be seriously injured or even killed as a result. It's not worth the risk, and you could glue the insulation in place if you absolutely had to put it on the inside (I would just put it on the outside, so it would not be exposed to moisture or germs).

What about a 2nd UTH hooked up to a thermostat set to 80 on the cool side? Would that work? I am exploring my options, as well. We keep our house COLD in the winter! I'm going to try a space heater to heat the room, but if that doesn't work I'm thinking about trying this.

Re: Insulating a sterilite tub? Any Ideas?
Rotating Space heater, if they cant have thier own room then move them to a corner or wall where the heat will be best kept

I have two 1-foot sections of 11" Flexwatt taped to the bottom of my 31 qt. tub. Bottom of the tub is completely covered with foil tape I got at Home Depot. Seems to keep the ambient temperature in the high 70s to low 80s. I'm sure I could insulate it even more if I wanted it to be consistently above 82ºF. I haven't tried it, but you could also see how a blanket would work (leaving some open space for air circulation, of course).
