    If I could I'd leave a comment, but I can't so I'll say how I feel here:

I'd risk my life to save my 12 creepy snakes before I'd urinate on that looser to save him.

I'd be suing for my losses; preferably the the individual owner. BPs are expensive, considered property, and our PETS. Plus, as stated, the officer was quite out of line. I don't expect to get tased unless I'm coming after someone with a knife. ... Actually, then I expect to get shot, but you get the point.

Well, I think I hit a nerve with the blogger and his ilk last night. Used a little foul language but hey, it was well deserved. I hope that Damon Baker (the guy who lost his snakes) and his family pull through this. I am hoping to breed my het pieds and a few other of my snakes this season. If I'm successful, I'm going to try to contact him and give him a few of the little ones free of charge. Don't know if he visits this site though.

its pretty crappy the guy lost his snakes but id try to get some compensation from the guy who actually started the fire.

the officer was not out of line in anyway. if any of u have had experience with law enforcement you would know why. i would have done the same thing if i were the cop, and i would have done the same thing if i was the homeowner

I doubt that he'll be able to prove any negligence on the neighbors part. Not that this is the same type situation, but I had a tree on my neighbors property fall on my house causing me some damage and also water damage in the basement a few years back. I had to pony up the deductable to my insurance co as it was an act of God. Neighbor didn't offer any assistance and it would have been fruitless trying to force him to. As long as Mr. Baker's neighbor is not negligable (leaving a candle burning, dryer running, stove on while not home), there will be little he can do to get compensation from them. And it was stated that the neighbors were not at home when the fire started. I also doubt his insurance will cover his snakes as policies usually have alot of small print as to what is and what is not covered.

I know about 6+ cops and none would do this. If it was a dog in there or his child the guy would have never been tased. The cop had a power trip from not being listened to because he is "the law" and that is the end of it.

Oh, I THINK about it! I think about it a lot, actually. I just don't know what exactly I could do about it. Pretty much the only thing that comes to mind is installing a sprinkler system? Which, yeah, out of my budget.
