    Hi,

    Quote:

but how in hell would u get plattys from breeding a platty to a butter?
Surely if you consider that lessers and butters might be the same gene and are definately on the same location it only makes sense that breeding a platty to a butter could give you a platty - it would just have the butter version of the gene instead of the lesser version.

The platty parent can either pass down a lesser gene or a daddy gene, the butter can only pass down a butter gene or a normal gene.

Anything that gets the butter gene from the butter and the daddy gene from the platty would be a "butter daddy" or whatever.

Basically there should be four possible outcomes from a platty x butter pairing.

Lessers ( got the normal gene from the butter and the lesser from the platty )
Butter daddies [ the butter version of a platty ] (got the daddy gene from the platty and the butter gene from the butter )
Blue eyed lucy's ( got the lesser gene from the platty and the butter gene from the butter )
Het dadies ( normal gene from the butter and daddy gene from the platty )

    I think that makes sense.

And I have no clue what the hidden gene is in NERDs HG lessers.

But I wouldn't half mind finding out.

Exactly what I was thinking Dr. Del. If the butters/lessers are genetically the same type of morph (different line), then it would absolutely be possible for Ralph to hatch a butter daddy in a butter x platty pairing.

Doesn't a lesser have a lesser and normal gene? Basically if you put a lesser x lesser, you would get BEL, lesser and normals right?

So......Lesser x Platty = Platty (lesser gene and platty gene), BEL (lesser gene from lesser and lesser gene from platty), Lesser (normal gene from lesser to lesser gene in platty), het platty (normal gene from lesser and platty gene from platty)

    What about recessive genes.....
Platty x Albino = Lesser 100% Albino (lesser gene from platty and albino gene), Normals DH platty albino (het platty gene from platty and het albino gene from albino).

So...a platty x lesser het albino = platty PH albino (platty gene from platty and lesser and poss het albino gene from lesser), BEL PH albino (lesser gene from platty and lesser gene poss het albino gene from lesser), Normals 100% het platty 50% PH albinos (het platty gene from platty and poss het albino from lesser)

And the dream pairing would be....lesser het albino x DH platty albino = ??????

Gosh, my brain is definitely mush now....
