    yes it can be plugged into the wall. the prong is the pieces of metal that plug into the wall, some have two the grounded ones have three

    ur supposed to use two identical heat sources with the 500 or u could get different outputs from the different heat sources plugged in. i would suggest using the thermostat for ur UTH for ur hot spot and a dimmer or rheostat for ur light to control the ambient temps. thats what i did before and it worked great
