    I waited until the NARBC in Anaheim last year to buy a pastel, and I bought the absolute best darned one at the entire show. Normally I do buy online, but it's easy for image tinting to drastically misrepresent a pastel's color (for both better and worse), so I really did want see them and make the comparison in person.

    That said... Oct 30 is pretty late in the season, so a lot of breeders will have already sold the best of their early-season stock. Sure, plenty of people have late clutches, but... if you do see a fabulous lesser or butter online before then, I'd go for it.

    As for lesser vs. butter, I'd look at as many examples of both as possible, and go with the ones really melt your socks.
