I MUCH prefer those over the Pastel Pieds. I'm not a fan of the PPs because the colors (especially the orange) are washed out.. One of the things I like best about Piebalds is the orange coloration which of course they tend to lose as adults. Maybe these guys will hold it longer.
Best of luck with them.
Thanks Louis, I do seriously wonder if the pastel gene would do more harm than good, here. But... We might not be able to resist the temptation to just try it and see!

Thanks Brandon, hopefully we'll be on board with some cinny pieds and pewter pieds for next year. Yours is very cool!

Pieds do vary a lot, even within a clutch, but we've hatched out quite a few like the one in the middle, so we're considering her a normal pied. Where the pattern goes from orange to black, it kind of blends, but in the yellowbelly pieds it as a very sharp transition with a black scale right next to an orange scale. It is a very high-contrast appearance. Also the orange color in the yellowbelly pied is more of a red-orange vs the yellow-orange coloration of the sibling.
