I have never seen that much unabsorbed yolk but leave him be on a clean area safe from the others and normally the yolk will absorb with 24 hours.

sorry "Her", and yes unabsorbed yolks are known to happen in all egg bearers.

To be honest I have no idea. Just happens sometimes I guess. :confuzd: No clue why mine had done it either. Give him a few days, I'll bet he livens up a bit.

This sometimes happens--keep him on wet paper towel, and give him a little mist with water once in a while. Keep him in the incubator. The more of that yolk he can aborb, the better off he will be.

Don't worry too much that he's weak--hatchlings with so much unabsorbed yolk like this often are. If he doesn't have anything wrong internally, he may very well rally in a couple of days and have better muscle tone.

for those of you that have had this happen, did it seem to be an isolated incident, or was the entire clutch effected? i asked my boyfriend to check on the snake, and he didn't say anything when he came out of the room, so i fear the worst. i just don't want to talk about it right now, but i want to have a bit of hope for the rest of my babies. this has been a really bad year as far as my snakes go.

sigh it happened to mine but mined did it due to a heat spike.....I still cant get an explanation to why we seem to be the only ones lacking cool air....aside from that I think maybe this breeding season just isn't the best for a lot of us....chin up really not your fault sometimes it's natures way

i asked my boyfriend to check on the snake, as i was too sad to look at it curled up in it's little container. when he came out of the room, he didn't say anything.

unfortunately, the little one has passed away.

    RIP, Thirteen

right now i'm sitting here praying that the rest DON'T pip, because i'm afraid they won't be ready. i've went through everything in my head a million times, and i can only think that maybe the snake pipped, and the rats beside the incubator crashed around and caused it to flee the egg? why does everything need to be justified with a reason? i don't know.

i guess he just wasn't meant to make it. i feel really down and discouraged today, but i'm trying to keep my head up. i hope my excitement for the rest of the clutch comes back in the next day or two.

sigh, i know i should just stop thinking about it.

    thanks for all your support.
