Re: What's a good bedding to absorb scent/smell
If you're just removing the poo and any urates that you see, you're going to have the smell regardless. You will need to clean the enclosure with a cleaner each time they poo. Any substrate is going to absorb the poo or urates, but the smell is going to going to stay with the any part that you can't remove, including the bottom of the enclosure. Proper cleaning is the only way you're going to get rid of the stink.

I use papertowels and don't have an issue with smells. I change them weekly and clean up any urates or poop each day.
Re: What's a good bedding to absorb scent/smell
My bedding is Aspen. I have the helix set to 90 so I can get an 88 reading on the hot side. I check the temp with a temp gun to be sure. So you think the temp on top of the aspen isn't warm enough so she is burrowing down - should I raise the temp?? I don't want to put it soo high that she could hurt herself. The reading directly on the tub is about 88/89 possibly 86/87 on top of the aspen.
Thanks

Re: What's a good bedding to absorb scent/smell
so does that aspen got that 'wood' smell like cypress mulch? i dont like that smell either and can be pretty concentrated after not opening the cage in few days.. i'm more of looking for a chemical way of removing the smell like some chemical when hit with the urine it breaks down the elements or maybe form a gel like thing and just dissolves the scent kind of thing, like what they use with dog housebreaking matts, it may not totally remove the smell but it definitely absorbs and limits the scent of the urine.
