De-chlorinate water

what about bottled water? im sure its fine if you can use tap water

This is something I was worried about as well. At work we always use reptisafe dechlorinator. Same thing at the zoo. Though typically we dechlorinate a large pitcher of it and then clean out/fill everyone's water dishes from it. Though to be honest we used the same pitcher for the Amphibians as well so it could possibly have been more for them than the reptiles lol.... honestly I never even thought to ask...

Anyways.... I have been using the reptisafe for my new BP. I got a free bottle of it from work and my water has a strong chlorine smell/taste (to the point where I can't drink it... and I grew up in a town where our tap water smelled like pool water lol). So whether its needed or not.... I don't know, but while I have this bottle I figure I'll use it.

like others have said don't use the de-chlorinater just draw up a gallon or more depending on how much you need and run your air pump into the water a new air stone and bubble the water over night and most if not all will be gone.

i myself use reverse osmoses for me and anything living in my house as town i live in adds fluoride to the water and fluoride is a by product of super phosphate production and is a known poison

straight tap water for my BPs too.. no problem neither

I commend you on that Ice. A lot of people don't know that sodium fluoride is bad for you. I'm lucky, as the town I live in doesn't have it in the water supply. I just have chlorine which is nasty enough..lol:gj:

besides herps I'm heavily into growing my own food also so i keep up on what is added and how it was made as i prefer the all natural nutes (omri listed products) to chemical nutes.

here's a ever scarier thing about fluoride picture this our country for a long time has added fluoride to drinking water and tooth paste and say it helps prevent cavities. now go get any 2 different types of home mouse or rat killer and see what all its got in it fluoride you guessed it fluoride so the same stuff that is in rat poison is in what we drink and clean our mouths with. and the info is there for anybody who pays attention can see and find they just don,t announce it so are they trying to strengthen the teeth of rats and mice and keep them cavity safe or just using it as this kind of stuff so they dont have to spend billions of dolors a year to dispose of it properly

heres a link for reverse osmosis some of you have asked me what kind i use these in this link are alot newer then my unit so should work better and not have as many draw backs as mine does the only 5 to 10 gallons daily.

checked that link out myself and the new systems are way better then mine so i placed an order got me one with a 50 gallon per day out put. i paid over 600 for my system but mine was bought when they first came out or shortly there after.

I've thought about using a RO system. Both for drinking and for my fish tanks.
The only set back though is that when I do water changes I go through 100-120 gallons that day.
