You wait it out. You can't push these girls. She may not get to weight this season - but she may.

Many females hit a wall at about 900 grams or so and will just stop eating - they'll eat again when they're ready to.

Damned wall anyway. I guess no one said this was going to be easy. Any other tricks anyone wants to revel?

Appetite stimulants = snake oil (har har).

Just wait her out. Offer once a week. Eventually she'll eat again.

Don't offer her anything exotic. Just offer her a slightly undersized item of whatever she was eating before.

I've run into that wall myself.

One girl hit it at 800 grams, one at 620, and one at 450. All three ate like champs, then one day....nothing.

I kept on trying, week by week. It was very frustrating and worrisome, thank goodness I'd been here long enough to know I just had to wait it out.

Eventually the biggest girl took her f/t rat, two weeks in a row in fact, now she's not eating again. The other two I broke down and offered live, because they were loosing proportionately more weight, now they've both taken three meals in a row, and I'm happy again. Now if I can just get that big het pied eating again......

I have had rescue balls go off feed for close to 9 months, they all come back around assuming everything (husbandry, health) is doing ok.

My albino female went off feed 3 months ago at 978g. Just picked up feeding 2 weeks ago and is slamming wean rats every 5 days and is back up to 1024grams.

Yep, I have a pair of Fires that were my best feeders and then just stopped feeding. The female has gone back on feed intermittently but definitely nowhere near the consistency she once was. The male started feeding again and then stopped for two months. Unfortunately, these animals don't necessarily follow their owners' breeding schedules
