    OP...
while you're waiting for the female double het offspring to mature, breed one of the young males back to the mother and grow those on as well

    DH x mother (pied) =
1:2 het pied, poss het albino
    1:2 pied, poss het albino

    DH x mother (albino) =
1:2 het albino, poss het pied
    1:2 albino, poss het pied

Or better yet, instead of breeding siblings to each other you can do 2 pairs. It betters your chances for one thing, and it creates stronger blood lines for a better thing. Less inbreeding is always the better option.

I'd just buy a trio of 100% double hets but even a pair of double hets would be better than buying just a pied and an albino IMO. It will cost you more than buying a pied and an albino, but it is a much safer way to go. It will save you a lot of time, and if the albino that you buy ends up being a slow grower/poor breeder you could be waiting many years just to even get the ingredients to make your albino pied. If you only get a pair of double hets at least even if the female does end up being a poor feeder or breeder when she finally does give you a clutch you will have a shot at your goal right away.

I just bought a albino male 66% het pied and 1.4 66% double hets from Riverside Reptile breeders in Pa. All the snakes arrived in good condition about a week ago. 5 out of the 6 have ate for me so far.

Then remember that each one could give you 2 eggs/2 infertiles/2 slugs. Then it would take almost 3 years woth of eggs to get 16 eggs, and theoretically you could get 1 Albino Pied. The reason you don't see many Double Homozygous recessives is that it is not easy to hit the goal.

I am not trying to deter anyone from trying to make there own Double recessive, but it isn't as easy as the punnett squares make it sound. Heck, I am on my second clutch of trying to make a True Ghost with Double Hets, and I produced some Double Het Axanthic Pieds last year. I just no, that you have to keep your hopes lower on these long shots.

    Good luck to you,

Indeed. Its no different then investing in stocks; some stocks give you a consistent, however, lower rate of return value wise, while some stocks are a long shot and may give you a high rate of return. The idea here is to hedge your bets when you can by having an array of projects to mitigate risk vs. reward.
