Or add extra heat tape to the front of the tubs and set them to 80*.
Re: Can't get ambient temps high enough!
I second that, a row of heat tape toward the front set at 80 should make the temps good. It worked for me on my quarentine tub.
Re: Can't get ambient temps high enough!
I would think one of those long, low profile baseboard heaters run in front of the racks would be a good idea.
They don't use forced air, so they shouldn't dry things out too badly, and since they just kind of gently radiate heat that leisurely rises I should think that it would help raise the ambient temps without overdoing it.
Just a thought.

Yeah, but I'm a San Franciscan... to us, 80 is like being in a sauna. :D:cool: When you're used to 50-60* weather all year long, it makes you a bit spoiled!

You could try and make something to block off the racks from the room and add a space heater in there. Almost like box the racks in on the front and have a curtain to slide across to contain most of the heat from the heater. Get a little creative with it. You will find the heater will dry the air out a good bit though trying to do it that way.
That might be a good idea... I'd have to re-arrange my bedroom a little, but that could work as a last resort. Thanks for the tips everyone!
Re: Can't get ambient temps high enough!
P.S. I tried draping a towel in front of the Boaphile rack, and it did raise ambient temps about 3 degrees... better than nothing! :gj:
Re: Can't get ambient temps high enough!
I'd cordon off an area in the room and put an oil heater in that area.
I keep my snakes in an area like that and heat it with a space heater, works great.
