I have a Fluke 62 mini which i got off of craigslist brandnew cheap. I also have a PE-1, which is right on with the fluke.

a cheap way without having to go searching for a decent but affordable temp gun is a multimeter. i bought one from walmart for $15 with a thermocouple attachment for back when i worked on pools and spa's but now i am using it for my bp's tanks.
