We have an 09 het that was the same way. I would get rid of her because of how she is though. All of them have an attitude of their own just like any thing else. Now that our girl is bigger she isn't as bad. We just dealt with her like all the others, fed her enough, made sure her housing was perfect, and handled her even if she bit. I do hope you will not get rid of her. Wish you luck.....

Both of my het pieds are hissy when I open their tubs. I usually break the strike by touching them with something first, then reach in a take them out. Once out of the tubs, they calm down. Sometimes when they are hissy in the tub but not facing me, I just reach in and take them out.. they puff up and hiss loudly, but I ignore that. I think they will always have a hissy attitude, but I think they are getting the idea that I wont hurt them. Just keep handling and breaking the strike mode. Good luck.

lol i use to have a wild caught close to 6 foot female would of loved to see you show who was boss she acted more like a giant retic i never gave up on handling her. had her 6 years before she died and always had fresh bite marks on me some are un-tame-able she never would roll into a ball she would rather bite you then try to hide or get away. but she was the best breeder female i had didn't matter what male i put in with her they locked up only when gravid did she go off feed all other time she munched down on 1 lbs rabbits

I want to thank everyone who gave advice. I am going to keep trying with this girl and see if I can get an improvement.
