My neighbor and I have identical cen-tech temp guns, we have tested them many times of the last 6 months and his reads consistently 1.1 degrees hotter than mine :rolleye2:
How does anyone know their temp reading devise is accurate?
Is mine accurate, or is his?

In my RBI rack I use a Herpstat and have an Accurite and a RadShack wireless in one tub. (Also have a temp gun for spot checks.) Bought the RadShack wireless ($20) so I can monitor warm temps in the tub remotely on a small screen in my office. Have used this combo for more than two years, and the RadShak and Accurite are usually within a degree of each other. Won't claim measurements are perfect but certainly keeping everyone healthy.

I put all my Accurites and one Springfield together.......all were just about the same temp wise. One Accurite and Springfield were identical for humidity and one Accurite was a 4% off on humidity. I had my fan going too. I also ordered a temp gun last week so hopefully I have my temps and humidity devices covered now.

You must of gotten junk ones. Return and get different ones. ALL mine read the same temps as my temp gun and thermostats.

Heres warm side temp. Accurate probe is taped ON the flexwatt and temp gun reading is INSIDE the tub.

My acu-rite with wired probe is accurate with temps but the humidity is whats off on it. Right about 10% too low. I thought this maybe was a fluke so i bought a second one since there only $12 and that reads identical in temps and humidity as the other acu-rite with wired probe. The model must not have a good hygrometer reading. Its fine though. Seeing i have 2 other thermometers that show the right humidity, im not worried about what the Acu-rite is showing. But i have a good guideline for them reading 10% lower than the actual room humidity.

I never worry about humidity levels. All mine are -+ 1-5% which will not harm anything. Mist when in shed and your fine.

Im sorta OCD about temps and humidity. I atleast have to have the room at 80* and 50+% humidity. This way itll never be too low of humidity in the tubs with the water bowls and paper towls. Im getting complete sheds without having to mist which is less overall work i have to do.

My room humidity with Central air on is 34-44%. Inside the tubs range from 48-61%. They all shed fine no problems.

Should be more OCD about Temps rather humidity IMO. I worry about temps first humidity last.

Dont worry about that. I worry about both. Ive got 4 thermometers in the room in all different areas between being on the heat tape, in the tub, near the rack, and in the center of the room.
