I may be reading your question wrong, but why wouldn't he be able to lock up? I am talking about the kink being literally at the final scale of the tail. Not a kink any further up the body. Could you maybe post a pic? Breeding him is up to you. I wouldn't if it were mine though.

No way would I breed this snake nor your pastel. I would not even sell them to anyboby just in case one day they decided to breed them.
There is only one way to find out if it's genetic and that is to breed them, I would not chance getting that line out to unsuspecting buyers.
IMHO if I were to find out a collector had bred a kinked animal, I would never by 'any' animals from them, ever.
I produced my first ever double morph this year, the only one out of 2 clutches, and she was beautiful. Unfortunately she had a nasty kink. I decided under these circumstances that she be euthanized.
If your goal is for a healthy future population of animals and not so much a monetary gain, the decision would be easy.

I never said anything about "gain" here or selling these animals for that matter? Don't know why you would assume that. I'm simply asking a question relax...:)

I don't plan on breeding this guy, but I am curious to see what his babies would look like? Hes awesome looking thats whats sucks. Hes a pastel and his head stripe continues on to his eye stripes, no separation. I mean theres a chance it won't and it will pass on technically. Has anyone ever tried j.w?

Also, if none of the other clutches come out like that is it most likely just a incubation issue?

I'll post pics as soon as there out, but the very very tip of the tail is bent completely backward so its touching the back of the animal. Its not a big part of the tail, and when I say the tip I mean the tippy tip. So I can see it being hard for him to "lock" up with the females tail being that the tip is bent.

That sounds more like a fused tail than a kink. Definitely get some pics.

That last pic looks like an elf's curl toed shoe. Poor thing. I don't really think that would impede its ability to breed. If you did breed it, though, and it produced any kinked offspring, I'd remove it from any further breeding projects. Just my two pennies.
