Re: The twilight saga movies
Twilight makes me gag. Underworld is the proper way to do a Vampire/Werewolf series.

*shakes head* Its really only about 3/4ths an inch up from Twilight...
Re: The twilight saga movies
I don't have the patience to read the books. I don't even like reading books either LOL, so definitely not something I'd do.
Movies are way better IMO. Eclipse was the best yet. I like the Twilight stuff but I'm not all into it like some people are. Although I can't see what girl isn't into Jacob..:wuv:

To me the books were ok (despite being rediculously simple to read....), though I'd much rather read Anne Rice's vampire books. :D
For me, watching the movies so far (haven't seen eclipse yet) has been like watching an incredibly awkward and embarassing trainwreck.... But what's worse is all of the commercials and pathetic advertising using Twilight, which makes the series even more laughable :weirdface

Nothing wrong with that.
Re: The twilight saga movies
The books are an entertaining escape from reality (easy quick read when on a plane). However the movies are just horrible writing followed by even worse acting.
Re: The twilight saga movies
Fine. I'll be the first to say I enjoy it all. The books and the movies; however I definitely enjoyed Eclipse the most so far. Didn't really like New Moon. And I love the Harry Potter series too. Has anyone read the Sookie Stackhouse novels?? I have read just about everything else mentioned too. You can't compare them all to each other. They're obviously aimed at different audiences and I appreciate them for what they are.
Re: The twilight saga movies
The Soockie Stackhouse novels are a rare exception where their on-screen adaptation is better than the original.
I just finished True Blood S3 ep 3, good stuff.

Hey I agree with you completely! I think being an English major in college has taught me that I read things for completely different reasons. Sometimes I read books (see Mary Barton, Moby haha apparently I can't say Moby's last name on this forum, and Invisible Man) because I am forced to and other times I read books (see Harry Potter, Milton, Toni Morrison and Robin Hobb novels) to be titillated.
Rarely however I just need to read a book so that I can be embarrassed by its awkwardness and be all gushy and giggly. I don't think anyone in their right mind would dare compare the Twilight series with Wordsworth or Shakespeare, but they serve a purpose nonetheless. Even though the books are extremely easy to read they got a lot of young people interested in reading again, and who knows maybe the next book they pick up will be a little more difficult.
You would be surprised how many young adults don't read because they are intimidated by the size and difficulty of a book.
Yeah the majority of the fans can be pretty damn annoying especially if you happen to be in a theater but honestly I don't expect anything different. I will say though that if it had been that noisy in The Dark Knight theater when I went to he midnight showing I DEFINITELY would have stabbed someone.
