    Dont beat yourself up over it. It happens to the best of keepers. Just by your attitude I can tell she is in very good hands, Hope she is doing better

    Update: So it seems okay. The last part of her tail is deep red/black. The remaining dead scales have fallen off as of yesterday. I've been applying Neosporian every day. I have been afraid to feed her, but she seems interested in food. She is really mellow and slow, but I think this is due to her old age. (She was kinda like this before)

    I really want to soak her again to cleanse the area. Should I continue to wait? I feel like that's what I would do if I cut myself - clean, Neosporin, clean, etc. What do you guys think?

    At this point, just let it dry up and drop off. As long as no additional tissue is becoming necrotic she'll be fine.

    I repeat from before, don't get it wet. Just keep that neosporin treatment going till it is healed.

    wet = bad.

    Congrats on your "new" nubby tail.;)

    My corn has a nubby tail, and he is doing fine.

    Go ahead and feed your snake.
